About
I never thought I would end up where I am today. I started out believing that I would follow in my fathers footsteps and go into the computer repair business. I sure was wrong about that.
I fell in love with technical theater my Sophomore year of High School, where a friend asked me if I was available to run the light board for their upcoming musical: Bye Bye Birdie. Little did I know that the time that I would be bit by the bug... From that day forward, theater was my life, and my passion. The next semester, I was able to design lights for their production of Arsenic and Old Lace. After the end of this show, I was known as the tech person of the school. I designed set and lights for the Following 3 shows before my graduation. All while doing that, I also started working for a sound company. I was tasked with setting up the stage, and designing and running lights. There, I was able to learn the elements of concert design and busking. I worked for that company until the owner decided to call it quits, and sold all of his equipment to a friend who also had a sound company. I was able to move over with the gear and became their lead LD, and i still hold that title.
In college, I pursued a degree in theater. I continued to work for the sound company while attending college. After my first semester, the college hired me as a student employee in theater department. While there, I was able to stage manage, design lights, design sets, design props, design projections, be an electrician, and a carpenter. i was able to work events ranging from speakers to dancers, choirs to orchestras, films to musicals. by the end of my college career, i had obtained degrees in Theater and Mechatronics, and other certificates in those fields.
After leaving Sierra, I worked at many theaters around the Sacramento area. The first theater that hired me on was Chautauqua Playhouse, which I am proud to still call home. I started out as a carpenter, working my way up through to master carpenter, then to TD and LD. I have also have the pleasure of being employed at McLaughlin Theater Company, Sacramento Theater Company, Davis Shakespeare Festival, Sierra College Theater Arts Department, and The Harris Center for the Arts
When I'm not working, I enjoy visiting Disneyland with my Fiance, hanging out with my dogs, and seeing shows when I can.
